BMW has unveiled an innovative iteration of its iDrive infotainment system, representing a significant advancement in the interaction between drivers and their vehicles. The new system seamlessly integrates natural dialogues and touch-based interactions, combining the geometric structures of analogue elements. This cutting-edge platform will be incorporated into BMW's recently unveiled Neue Klasse electric cars.
The interface design is harmoniously integrated with the BMW curved display, creating a visually striking floating cockpit. Additionally, a head-up display works in tandem with the curved display, providing drivers with comprehensive information.
At the core of this enhanced experience is the panoramic vision, which combines the curved display and a 3D heads-up display for active driving situations such as assisted driving and traffic guidance.
Furthermore, the multifunctional steering wheel features precise and active haptic feedback, along with multilayer technology. The display employs matrix backlight technology, ensuring high resolution, vibrant colours, and strong contrast in any lighting conditions.
The system also introduces a new quick select feature concept, initially introduced in 2023. Built on an integrated software architecture and leveraging the next-generation BMW operating system, the Neue Klasse benefits from smart connectivity through the BMW cloud, seamlessly connecting with users' digital ecosystems.
