The new-gen GLC is likely to be launched in August by 2023
Mercedes-Benz India had announced last year that the company is all set to launch its best-selling SUV in the country – the second gen GLC in 2023. Now, the company has put out some teasers showing off the new car on Indian roads. The new-gen GLC was to be launched in the third quarter of 2023 and we can therefore safely assume that the launch will be in August this year.
The GLC measures 4,716mm in length, 2,075mm in width, and 1,640mm in height. The wheelbase of the SUV has increased by 15 mm and now stands at 2888 mm. The GLC gets a new headlights and the integrated DRLs look very good. The new, wider radiator grille and the triangular shaped taillights too add to the presence of the GLC. It looks more matures than before.
The GLC will get the MBUX suite and that means it will get a 12.3-inch driver screen and an 11.9-inch tablet-like touchscreen infotainment system. The space inside was always generous but there’s one thing we hope Mercedes has provided this time around and that’s a plastic footing for your left leg. There’s a long list of features though which includes powered seats with memory settings, improved ADAS, and USB charging ports, among others.
While globally the second generation of the GLC comes with a plug-in hybrid powertrain but India is unlikely to get that. Instead we will get the 2-litre turbocharged petrol with the 48v mild hybrid system and the 2-litre turbocharged diesel engine. While the petrol is the more powerful of the lot providing more than 250 bhp, the diesel too gives out a gracious 194bhp
