Maruti Suzuki has launched the new fourth-generation Swift in five variants.
The Maruti Suzuki Swift has undergone a significant transition and its updated subsequent fourth-generation version finally made it to our shores yesterday. It has got a bit expensive from ₹6.49 lakh onwards up to ₹9.64 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
However, adding several new features can be cited as a reason behind this hike. Not to forget, all of which have made the marque’s most popular hatchback safer, more efficient and luxurious.
Equally distributed across five variants - LXi, VXi, VXi(O), ZXi, and ZXi+ – the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift is further segregated based on the choice of the gearbox. Additionally, they can further be specced with two customisation packs - Racing Roadster and Thrill Chaser. Common across all Maruti Suzuki Swift variants is the brand’s Z-series 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine now that produces 80 bhp and 112 Nm, paired to either a 5-speed MT or AT with all variants, except for the base-spec LXi variant which is available with the MT as standard.
A significant amount of updates can be noticed with the base-spec variant starting with the improved standard safety feature list – six airbags, hill-hold assist, reverse parking sensors, speed-sensing door auto lock, ABS with EBD, ESP, and ISOFIX mounts. All four windows are now power units, while the ORVMs are manually adjustable, headlights are halogen units here, but tail lamps are LED units.
Adding to the features available with the LXi, both manual and automatic trims of the VXi variant are available with body-coloured, manually adjustable, turn-indicator integrated ORVMs, and body-coloured door handles on the outside. The cabin sees the addition of a 7-inch SmartPlay Pro touch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, voice assist, and OTA update. Steering-mounted controls, four speakers, and a Type A charge port are the other visual add-ons.
Based on the VXi, the VXi(O) adds a smart key with an engine push start/stop button, body-coloured electrically adjustable, turn-indicators integrated ORVMs and connected car features like Alexa and Geofencing.
The ZXi variant takes matters up a notch with the addition of LED headlights and DRLs, a rear wiper with a washer, and alloy wheels on the outside. The cabin sees the inclusion of rear AC vents with rear USB chargers, height adjustable driver’s seat, auto AC, 60:40 split rear seats, wireless charger and 6-speakers as standard.
The top-spec variant adds LED fog lamps. The cabin sees a bigger 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touch infotainment screen, a 6-speaker sound system by Arkamys, cruise control, footwell illumination, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel to finish it off on a suave note.
This ZXi+ is also available with dual-tonne colour options. The manual variant of which costs ₹9.15 lakh, and the AT trim is priced at ₹9.65 lakh (all ex-showrooom, prices). Speaking of colours, available across all variants, Maruti Suzuki has introduced two new options called Luster Blue and Novel Orange, along with the existing range –Sizzling Red, Pearl Arctic White, Magma Grey, and Splendid Silver - options
