New Mercedes-Benz CLA EV To Get More Affordable ‘200 Standard Range’ Variant In India At Launch, Bookings Open

Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the upcoming new-generation CLA EV will get a more accessible CLA 200 Standard Range variant in India at the launch. The new-gen Mercedes-Benz CLA EV was originally announced only in the CLA 250+ Long Range variant, and the new base trim has been added in response to customer feedback, the automaker announced. The CLA 200 Standard Range will be based on the ‘Progressive Line’ trim. More importantly, it will offer a lower claimed range at 542 km. Bookings for the new-gen CLA EV have opened in India for ₹1.5 lakh.

Prices for the Mercedes-Benz CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’ is expected to start from ₹55 lakh onwards, while the CLA 250+ ‘Long Range’ is expected to be priced around ₹59 lakh (ex-showroom). The final prices will vary depending on the on forex rate at the time of the launch during mid-April 2026.

The Mercedes-Benz CLA 250+ Long Range promises a claimed range of 792 km on a single charge from its 85 kWh battery pack. Both variants will be able to access the automaker’s fast-charging network of 9,000+ charging points under MB.CHARGE public. Moreover, the Intelligent Navigation feature via MBUX Virtual Assistant will guide customers to optimise charging intervals. The new CLA EV is underpinned by the 800-volt architecture, which ensures a top-up of 400 kms of charge in just 20 mins in the CLA 250+ Long Range, while the CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’ takes just 20 minutes to add 320 kms, using a 240 kW DC fast charger.

Mercedes-Benz India says the equipment level of both the CLA 250+ Long Range and CLA 200 Standard Range will remain the same. This is in line with the automaker’s commitment to a more feature-packed product across variants. Customers pre-booking the new CLA will be eligible for a complimentary wall box charger.

Prices for the new Mercedes-Benz CLA will be announced in April this year, while deliveries are set to commence from the end of April for the Long Range, and from June for the new Standard Range.
