The all-new BYD Atto 3 has launched in China with a big power boost, 630 km range, and advanced flash charging capabilities.
The third-generation BYD Atto 3, known domestically in China as the Yuan Plus, has officially made its debut at the Beijing Auto Show 2026. This latest iteration of the electric SUV arrives with substantial upgrades in performance, technology, and size as the manufacturer seeks to revitalise sales in its home market.
The vehicle now adopts the brand's latest design language, featuring sharp headlights and a signature chrome element between them, alongside modern semi hidden door handles.
In terms of physical presence, the new Atto 3 has grown quite a lot. It measures 4665 mm in length and 1895 mm in width, making it 210 mm longer and 20 mm wider than the outgoing version. The wheelbase has been stretched by 50 mm to reach 2770 mm, providing more interior room. Practicality is further enhanced by the addition of a 101 litre frunk.
Performance has seen a major leap. The standard variant is equipped with a 57.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and a 265 bhp rear mounted motor, offering a range of 540 km. However, the top tier version now produces 323 bhp from a larger 68.5 kWh battery, achieving an impressive 630 km of range.

One of the most striking technical highlights is the flash charging technology, which reportedly allows the battery to charge from 10-97% in just nine minutes!
The interior has been overhauled to include a premium 16 speaker audio system, a built-in refrigerator with heating functions, and a power tailgate. Technology is at the forefront with a large floating touchscreen, a head up display, and the LiDAR based DiPilot 300 assisted driving system.
The outgoing BYD Atto 3 is currently on sale in India, so we can expect BYD to bring this next-gen model to our shores as well. However, a launch timeline is not known as of now.
