The next-gen Hyundai Creta will be based on the K3 platform, the same architecture underpinning the second-gen Kia Seltos.

Hyundai is working on the third generation of the Creta that is undergoing trials and testing in South Korea currently. First spy images of the next-gen Creta recently went viral on the internet. As seen in the previous spy images, the new Creta will be significantly different from the current model. Another set of images has surfaced online that reveal a few more crucial details about the upcoming iteration of Creta.

Next-Gen Hyundai Creta: Expected Design

The third-generation Creta is expected to be underpinned by Hyundai’s new K3 platform, which also forms the basis of the second-generation Kia Seltos. As a result, the Creta could see an increase in its overall dimensions, similar to the latest Seltos. Spy images hint at a larger footprint for the new model, although exact changes will only be clear once official measurements are announced.

For context, the latest Kia Seltos is 95 mm longer, 30 mm wider, and features an 80 mm longer wheelbase than before. Visually, the upcoming Creta appears boxier, with a more upright and squared-off stance. It features a flat, vertical front fascia, a sharply raked windscreen, and a stronger road presence, accentuated by new 19-inch star pattern alloy wheels, unlike the 18-inch units seen in the earlier spy images.

Details at the rear remain largely concealed, but the camouflage hints at a prominent roof spoiler and a sharply tapering roofline on the new Creta. The tailgate appears flatter in design and is expected to integrate a noticeable roof-mounted spoiler. The images also confirm the presence of a front camera and a radar sensor on the new Hyundai Creta.

Next-Gen Hyundai Creta: Boss mode unlocked

The latest spy images also give a sneak peek inside the cabin of the third-gen Creta for the first. Although the dashboard stays under the wraps, it is expected to share some similarities with the new-gen Kia Seltos, launched a couple of months ago. The seats are finished in black leatherette upholstery, likely to be reserved for higher variants. The cabin appears more upmarket overall, featuring cleaner surfaces and a stronger horizontal design theme that aligns with Hyundai’s latest global models.

However, the biggest stantout feature inside the cabin is the electrically adjustable front passenger seat with controls accessible for rear occupants. This confirms the presence of a Boss mode functionality for extra legroom for the rear seat occupant, whenever the front passenger seat is not occupied.

Next-Gen Hyundai Creta: Expected Powertrain

The next-generation Hyundai Creta is likely to be offered with the same engine lineup, comprising a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol producing 114 bhp, a 1.5-litre diesel with 115 bhp, and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol delivering 158 bhp. A 6-speed manual gearbox is expected to be standard across all variants, while the NA petrol could also be paired with a CVT, the diesel with a 6-speed torque converter automatic, and the turbo-petrol with a 7-speed DCT.

Built on the K3 platform, the upcoming Creta is also expected to support a strong hybrid powertrain based on a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This hybrid configuration has already been confirmed for the next-generation Kia Seltos, which is scheduled to receive it in 2027.
