Oben Rorr Evo Electric Motorcycle Deliveries Begin

Oben Electric has announced the commencement of deliveries of the new Rorr Evo electric motorcycle. The first batch of e-motorcycles were delivered to customers at a special event in Bengaluru, while deliveries at over 150 showrooms and 90+ service centres across 18 states will take place in a phased manner. The Oben Rorr Evo was launched earlier in April at a price tag of ₹1 lakh (ex-showroom, for first 10,000 customers), and the company revealed it received over 25,000 bookings within 15 days of launch. The Rorr Evo is now priced at ₹1.25 lakh (ex-showroom).

With an overwhelming number of bookings, Oben says it’s now working on ramping up production to meet the growing demand. The company has an installed production capacity of 100,000 units per annum.

The Oben Rorr Evo received a host of upgrades over its predecessor. This includes a new i-PMSM motor that does not use rare-earth materials. The motor is capable of producing 9 kW (12 bhp) and can sprint from 0-40 kmph in 3 seconds, and has a top speed of 110 kmph. The 3.4 kWh LFP battery pack promises a claimed range of 180 km on a single charge, while the real-world range is said to be around 150 km, an improvement of 25 per cent. The battery can be charged from 0-80 per cent in just 90 minutes, and the bike gets an AI-powered ride optimisation feature ‘SmartIQ’ that improves the range by up to 15 per cent. Oben is offering an 8-year battery warranty on the Rorr Evo.

Other features include a projector headlamp, a chain drive, a 5-inch colour TFT digital console with OTA updates, turn-by-turn navigation, geofencing, remote immobilisation, and fall detection with emergency SOS. The Rorr Evo uses the ARGUS connected technology platform, developed in-house by Oben.
