CEO of the company believes that this certification will further strengthen their position in the electric vehicle market.
Odysse Vader madeits initial appearance earlier this year, but the vehicle faced delays in reaching the market due to certification issues. Odysse has now confirmed that Vader has successfully obtained the International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) certification and is scheduled to appear on Indian roads in this month itself.
The Vader is equipped with a hub-mounted motor generating a power of 3 kW and a peak output of 4.5 kW. It offers four riding modes, including a reverse mode, and has a top speed of 85 kmph. The 3.7 kWh lithium battery pack can be fully charged in approximately four hours. Odysse claims a range of 125 km in Eco mode, 105 km in Drive mode, and 90 km in Sport mode.
The design of the Odysse Vader appears to blend elements from various petrol-powered bikes, featuring a round LED headlight, a slender tank, and a split seat. The battery is discreetly positioned beneath the tank, concealed between substantial side panels. The overall styling of the Vader aligns with the typical aesthetic of a sporty-commuter bike.
The Vader is equipped with a telescopic fork and dual shocks. It features 17-inch wheels and comes with a 240 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear disc, both equipped with CBS as standard. They are shod with road-biased tyres.
The Vader electric bike gets a 7-inch Android display. This provides riders with speed, range, and battery level. Additionally, the internet-enabled Vader includes Google Maps navigation. The Odysse Electric Motorcycle Vader is available in five colours: Venom Green, Fiery Red, Midnight Blue, Misty Grey, and Glossy Black. For added convenience, it provides 18 litres of storage within its faux fuel tank.
Talking about the new product, the company’s CEO, Nemin Vora said, “The ICAT certification for the Odysse Vader is a testament to our unwavering commitment to delivering top-notch electric vehicles. The AIS-156-approved battery pack sets the Odysse Vader apart, ensuring not only fast charging capabilities but also reinforcing its reliability for daily commuting. We believe this certification will further strengthen our position in the electric vehicle market.”
The Odysse Vader competes directly with the Revolt RV400 and the standard variant of the Tork Kratos. Prospective buyers can pre-book the vehicle at authorised showrooms or through the official website. The electric bike was available at a price of ₹ 1,09,999 and we are expecting the company to keep it around the same range.
