Renault has officially started exporting the latest Duster from India, with an initial batch of 750 units shipped from Chennai to South Africa.
Renault India has officially initiated its international export operations for the 2026 Duster. The inaugural maritime shipment, comprising 750 units of the car, has departed from the Chennai port bound for South Africa. This maiden delivery signifies the formal launch of the carmaker's expanded export programme for the next-gen Duster, with several additional international right-hand-drive and left-hand-drive markets slated to be added to the logistics pipeline over the coming months.
The export milestone highlights the increasingly critical position that India occupies within the broader Renault Group industrial framework, aligning with the company's long-term 'futuREady' corporate strategy aimed at cementing the country as a primary global hub for vehicle engineering, advanced manufacturing, and export logistics.
Stephane Deblaise, Chief Executive Officer of Renault Group India, stated that the commencement of these exports serves as a strong validation of the overall build quality, technological capabilities, and cost competitiveness demonstrated by the brand's Chennai-based manufacturing operations. He further emphasised that India maintains all the core macroeconomic fundamentals needed to establish itself as a prominent automotive export center, pointing to its world-class manufacturing standards, rich engineering talent pool, economies of scale, and an evolving logistics infrastructure.
As part of its forward-looking industrial roadmap, the French automaker is actively working toward an ambitious fiscal target of generating €2 billion in annual export revenues from its Indian operations by the year 2030.
