Ola Electric has started delivering the S1 Pro+ (5.2kWh) with its in-house 4680 Bharat Cell, making it the first Indian company to fully own battery pack and cell manufacturing for electric vehicles.
Ola Electric has announced the start of deliveries for its S1 Pro+ (5.2kWh) electric scooter, which is the first vehicle to feature the company’s indigenously developed 4680 Bharat Cell battery pack.
This new battery technology, manufactured entirely in-house, is designed to offer improved range, enhanced performance, and greater safety. With this development, Ola Electric becomes the first Indian company to fully own both the battery pack and cell manufacturing process for its electric vehicles.
According to an Ola Electric spokesperson, the rollout of vehicles powered by the 4680 Bharat Cell marks a significant step towards energy independence for India. The spokesperson highlighted that this achievement is not only about the new battery cell but also about India’s growing capability in the field of energy and mobility.
The in-house cell technology allows Ola Electric to deliver products with better range, performance, and safety, all developed and produced within the country.
The 4680 Bharat Cell battery pack in the S1 Pro+ (5.2kWh) has received ARAI certification under the latest AIS-156 Amendment 4 standards from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
The scooter is equipped with a 13 kW motor, enabling acceleration from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.1 seconds and offering a range of 320 km (IDC with DIY mode). The S1 Pro+ features four riding modes: Hyper, Sports, Normal, and Eco, and is equipped with dual ABS and disc brakes for enhanced safety.
Additional features include a two-tone seat, body-coloured mirrors, a new aluminium grab handle, rim decals, and a wider choice of colours.
Ola Electric’s product range includes S1 scooters and Roadster X motorcycles, catering to both premium and mass-market segments, with multiple battery configurations and price points.
