This opens up a new possibility to charge electric scooters in general.
While Ola Electric’s position in the electric two-wheeler market might have dropped a couple of ranks, the brand hasn’t stopped innovating. At its annual customer day event, now called Sankalp, the Bengaluru-based public company showcased an innovative charger concept called “Flux Charger,” a wireless mode of charging electric scooters. Ola has not mentioned anything about its availability yet, so stay tuned to this space; we will be adding more details.

The Flux Charger concept works the same way wireless charging in mobile phones does. There are two coils here: one attached to the scooter and the other integrated into a platform separately. The coil on the scooter is packaged into a separate casing that protrudes out of the underbelly and works as the receptor for the electric charge from the charging platform.

Yes, Ola plans to launch this technology with its S1 scooters, and the casing below the electric scooter will come factory-fitted. However, a conclusive launch time is yet to be confirmed, so stay tuned to this space for the update.
