The clarification comes after the CCPA sent the EV manufacturer a show cause notice.
Ola Electric confirmed that it has resolved 99.1 per cent of the consumer complaints registered with the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA). The latter had received 10,644 complaints against the company, citing product quality and unsatisfactory services. Coupled with the online banter that Ola’s CEO Bhavish Aggarwal embroiled himself with comedian Kunal Kamra, received further flak – all of which led to the company’s share slump and market share reduction as well.

Ola Electric’sChief Financial Officer, Harish Abichandani, confirmed in an exchange filing that the issues have been resolved. He further clarified that the company had also provided the requested information and clarifications in response to the show cause notice that the CCPA had issued to Ola.
In addition to the show cause notice, the Union Minister Heavy Industries had also issued an investigation into Ola Electric’s service related issues. Due to which, the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) also commenced an audit against the Bengaluru-based EV maker.
To address the service issues, Ola Electric launched the HyperService network, which would see the brand expand from 400 to 1,000 service points by 2024. At the same time, it would also target training 100,000 mechanics to service the Ola S1 scooters. However, on the other hand, the company again came under the flak when images of bouncers being hired at its service stations to tackle distressed consumers went viral. Kunal Kamra highlighted the same, and you can read more about it here.
