The latest software update also introduces anti-theft, Ola Maps, and much more.
Ola Electric today officially introduced its latest MoveOS4 software update. The new features with this update will be rolled out across India to all Ola scooters in the next seven days.
There are several segment-first features with this release all of which will be available via Over-The-Air (OTA) updates. Although the Ola S1 X+ will not get these features with this initial rollout, it will get it eventually.
As for the new features, the latest update finally introduces Ola Maps. It has been developed internally integrating Ola’s own Hypercharger network to access the exact location of these charging points. This new feature finally brings the Ola S1 Air and S1 Pro on par with its main rivals, the Ather 450X and 450S. In addition to that, there is ‘Find My Scooter’, ‘Share Location from Map’ and a unique “Ride Journal” (telematics of the scooter) all of which can be accessed from the user’s phone.
Ola has also introduced an ‘Anti-theft Alarm’, which the manufacturer claims negates every possible scenario that could arise to steal the scooter. Additionally, Ola Electric scooters will now also have a biometric app lock feature which will allow you to lock/unlock the scooter using your biometrics via your mobile phone. This makes the Ola range of scooters, the first electric scooter in our country to offer this feature.
Aside from the above, the Ola S1 scooters now also gain Hill Hold and Hill Descent Control, garage mode (info of all Ola scooters in one app), faster hyper charging, care mood (gives you an accurate description of how much emission was avoided), auto indicator turn-off, new trip mode, headphone control for music and call, concert mode, take-me-home headlights, and add favourite contacts.
Ola Electric also claims that the latest update has also enhanced the range of the scooter, however, the exact detail has not been mentioned yet. In addition to that the scooters will also have cruise control which can be activated in Eco mode only.
Ola Electric’s current line-up includes three models. The top-spec S1 Air is priced from ₹1.47 lakh, while the mid-spec S1 Air is priced at ₹1.20 lakh. Lastly, the newly introduced Ola S1X+ is the base-spec model (doesn’t get the TFT instrument cluster) and it is priced at ₹90,000 (all ex-showroom prices, Delhi).
