Flatter floor, new suspension and updated powertrain hopefully make for a better package
Ola has finally begun delivering its updated S1 Pro Gen 2 to the public. The changes made to the e-scooter aim to improve its functionality and performance. The update regarding the same was made on the company’s official social media handles.
Unlike the Gen 1, the S1 Pro Gen 2 doesn’t have a step in the floor, increasing its convenience factor. Plus, Ola has gotten rid of the single arm telescopic front suspension and opted for a conventional telescopic fork. As a result, the floor space is also larger and taller riders will find it better now.

Ola’s powertrain was one of the most powerful in the segment and for the Gen 2 model, the peak power rating is now up from 8.5kW to 11kW. As a result, claimed 0-40 kmph time is 2.6 seconds (0.3 quicker) in Hyper mode and it can supposedly now achieve a top speed of 120 kmph. More importantly, thanks to the better battery packaging and improved algorithms, the rated range figure has shot up to 180 km.
It is pricey now, though. At Rs 1,47,499 (ex-showroom Bengaluru, including FAME-2 subsidy), it is certainly in the same price ballpark as the Ather 450X Gen 3.1, and the Bajaj Chetak.
