The Oppo F25 Pro 5G has officially been launched in India, and is aimed at the mid-range market with prices starting under Rs. 25,000. Oppo had announced this launch in late February, so most of the device’s specifications are already known. We now have confirmation that there will be two variants: the base version has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and is priced at Rs. 23,999 in India. There’s also a version for Rs. 25,000 which has 256GB of storage and the same 8GB of RAM.
The Oppo F25 Pro 5G is currently up for preorders on Oppo’s official website, official dealers and third-party online as well as offline retailers. It will begin shipping to buyers on March 5 In addition to the Lava Red colour gradient teased earlier, this phone is available in Ocean Blue, which appears to have a pattern that looks like light hitting the surface of a water body.
Oppo describes the F25 Pro 5G as the “slimmest 5G smartphone with an IP65 rating”. At 7.54mm in thickness, and weighing 177g, the company is pushing it as a stylish offering in the sub-Rs. 25,000 space. The IP65 rating means that this phone should be resistant to water jets for three minutes or 60 minutes of rain, as per the company’s own tests. There’s also Panda glass for the display, which the company says will reduce scratches and improve durability.
The company has also confirmed that the F25 Pro 5G is based on the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC, with eight cores and an integrated Mali-G68 GPU. You also get a 5000mAh battery and 67W wired fast charging using the included SuperVOOC charger. The 6.7-inch AMOLED panel has a full-HD+ resolution, HDR10+ certification, and 120Hz peak refresh rate. It also has curved sides and slim borders, for what the company calls “borderless”.
On the rear, you get a 64-megapixel, f/1.7 primary camera without OIS, a secondary ultra-wide camera with an 8-megapixel sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The front camera has a 32-megapixel sensor and f/2.4 aperture. Oppo is particularly keen to promote this phone’s ability to record 4K 30fps video with the front as well as primary rear cameras.
Other features include a microSD card slot, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2. Oppo promises that the F25 Pro 5G will feel like new for four years, in terms of performance and responsiveness. The battery is also said to be able to hold at least 80 percent of its capacity after four years.
