No electric motors here—just pure, old-school, petrol-powered fury.
In a world where every new sports car debut is another step towards electric or hybrid powertrains, Horacio Pagani stands defiant. His latest masterpiece, the Pagani Utopia Roadster, is a bold testament to what matters: beauty and raw, unadulterated performance. No electric motors here—just pure, old-school, petrol-powered fury. And guess what, Pagani only plans to offer 130 examples worldwide.
Two years after the Utopia Coupe graced the roads, Pagani’s dream factory has birthed its open-cabin sibling. The Utopia Roadster isn’t just a pretty face; it’s an engineering marvel that shares the same heart-pounding twin-turbo AMG V12 engine as the coupe. With a mighty 852 bhp and a whopping 1100 Nm of torque, this beast is rear-wheel drive and comes with a choice of a traditional seven-speed manual transmission or an optional transversal automatic from Xtrac.
But who’s buying this kind of car for practicality? Let’s talk about those wheels: 21-inch in the front and 22-inch in the back, monolithic aluminium alloy masterpieces, wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Corsa rubber. And for those brave (or crazy) enough to take their multi-million-dollar ride out in the snow, Pagani thoughtfully offers a set of winter tyres.
Even with a removable roof, Pagani hasn’t compromised on the signature butterfly doors, which now have a revised mechanism to work with the new architecture. The Roadster transforms from a closed-cabin hypercar to an open-air dream machine simply by removing its lightweight carbon roof, which stows neatly behind the seats. And if you’re looking for a conversation piece, Pagani suggests using the roof as a piece of art when it’s not on the car. Yes, you read that right—the roof can double as a sculpture for your living room.
As always, Pagani isn’t spilling the beans on the exact price tag for this work of art on wheels. But if you’re eyeing one, be prepared to shell out upwards of $4 million. Each Utopia Roadster is a bespoke creation, tailored to its owner's whims and fancies, making every single unit a unique expression of personal luxury and style.
So, in an era where cars are increasingly about emissions and efficiency, Horacio Pagani’s Utopia Roadster stands as a bold statement. It’s not about going green; it’s about going fast, looking stunning, and owning a piece of automotive art. If you’ve got the millions to spare, why not? After all, who needs practicality when you can have a Pagani?
