Triumph appears to be preparing a seventh motorcycle for its India-made range: the Bonneville 400. The upcoming roadster, often called the “Baby Bonneville”, has been spotted testing in Europe and in India over the past few months. Now the company has released a teaser which announces that the much-awaited Bonneville 400 will be unveiled on October 6. Like the other motorcycles in the range, the Bonneville 400 is expected to be manufactured by Bajaj Auto. Triumph recently updated its India-built lineup with a downsized 350 cc engine, and the new Bonneville is likely to use the same powerplant. The range currently includes the Triumph Speed 400, Scrambler 400 X, Scrambler 400 XC, Speed T4, Thruxton 400 and Tracker 400.
From the spy images, we can confirm that the styling of the upcoming Triumph bike is based on the larger Bonneville 900 and 1200 models. Details include a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, round headlamp, wide handlebar, single-piece bench seat and peashooter-style exhaust. The motorcycle also appears to have chrome finishes on its exhaust muffler, crankcase and tubular pillion grab rail. To add to the retro appeal the bike is running on spoke wheels wrapped with MRF rubber. The images also show a single-pod digital instrument console. Smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation could be offered with traction control.
The Bonneville 400 is expected to use a 349 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, similar to the unit in the updated range. Triumph may tune it differently to suit the roadster’s character. For reference, the engine produces 36.4 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 32 Nm at 7,000 rpm in the Speed 400. It will be paired to a 6-speed gear box with a slip and assist clutch. The new Triumph Bonneville 400 is expected to make its India debut by late October, 2026 in India and will compete with the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Jawa 350 and the Honda CB350. As for pricing we expect the 2026 Triumph Bonneville to be priced around ₹2.60-2.80 lakh (ex-showroom).
