Czech automaker Skoda has unveiled the Epiq show car at IAA Mobility 2025, previewing what promises to be the brand's most affordable all-electric SUV when it enters production in 2026.

Volkswagen has officially unveiled the ID.Cross Concept at the IAA Mobility show in Munich, previewing a compact electric SUV set to launch in summer 2026 with an expected price range of €28,000-30,000 (₹25-27 lakh approximately). This electric replacement for the T-Cross aims to bring affordable electric mobility to Europe while potentially expanding Volkswagen's EV footprint to emerging markets like India.

The benefits vary based on the new GST structure's categorisations of car price, engine capacity and body style.

This move comes after the GST Council reduced tax rates on commercial vehicles from 28% to 18% during its 56th meeting on September 3.

These price reductions come at a crucial time for Mercedes-Benz India, as the luxury car market continues to show strong growth momentum.

In addition to lower up-front purchase prices, the company says after-sales costs will reduce too.

Buyers in every segment served by the company stand to benefit, with price cuts range from ₹48,700 to ₹3,49,000.

The proposal, unveiled last week, aims to align renewal charges with a vehicle’s age, prompting consumers to rethink their ownership costs—especially those clinging on to long-serving family cars.
