Across metro cities, the increases varied slightly.
Fuel prices were revised upward by 90 paise per litre on Tuesday, making it the second hike in less than a week, according to a news agency PTI report citing industry sources. In Delhi, petrol now costs ₹98.64 per litre, up from ₹97.77, while diesel has risen to ₹91.58 per litre from ₹90.67. Tuesday's revision follows a steeper ₹3 per litre hike that was announced last Friday.
Across metro cities, the increases varied slightly. Mumbai saw petrol prices climb 91 paise to ₹107.59 per litre, with diesel going up 94 paise to ₹94.08 per litre.
Kolkata recorded the sharpest petrol price jump among the four metros, with rates rising 96 paise to ₹109.70 per litre. Diesel in the city went up 94 paise, now priced at ₹96.07 per litre.
In Chennai, petrol prices rose 82 paise to ₹104.49 per litre, while diesel edged up 86 paise to ₹96.11 per litre.
