Porsche has officially confirmed the launch of an all-electric Cayenne SUV, scheduled for late 2025. During a recent Q&A session with a media publication, Porsche CEO Oliver Blume disclosed that the fourth-generation Cayenne will be exclusively electric. The current ICE-powered Cayenne models will continue production alongside the new electric variant. Both versions are slated for production at Porsche's Bratislava facility in Slovakia.
Porsche has adjusted the release sequence of its upcoming electric vehicles in a notable update to its product strategy. The Cayenne EV will now debut before the electric versions of the 718 Boxster and Cayman sports cars. Despite the shift towards electrification, Porsche remains committed to its ICE models. The company plans to continue offering petrol-powered versions of the Cayenne well into the 2030s, including models equipped with V8 engines.
Beyond the Cayenne EV, Porsche is developing a larger, all-electric SUV positioned above the Cayenne. This upcoming flagship model will feature three rows of seating and will be manufactured in Leipzig, Germany. While initially announced as an all-electric vehicle, there are indications that hybrid or combustion engine variants are under consideration.
