The recall affects units manufactured between September 1, and December 23, 2024.
Porsche India has issued a recall for 11 units of the 911, 718 Cayman GT4 RS, 718 Boxster Spyder RS and Panamera for a possible defect with the centre-locking wheels. The recall affects units manufactured between September 1 and December 23, 2023.
The recall says there is a possibility that the centre-lock wheels do not meet the required specifications. Furthemore, a faulty wheel screwing can lead to damage or even break the central locking nut. This can therefore result in the wheel coming off and the vehicle losing control.
While only 11 units are said to be affected in India, nearly 2,000 units of the 911, 718 and Panamera are affected globally. However, no accidents have been reported globally due to this issue. Porsche uses centre-locking wheels on its high-performance cars like the 911 GTS, 911 GT3 models, 911 Turbo models, 718 Cayman GT4 RS, 718 Boxster Spyder RS and Panamera GTS. Acko Drive has reached out to Porsche India for more information regarding the recent recall.
