Range Rover Sport Electric Unveiled; Bookings Open in India Ahead of 2027 Launch

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has officially unveiled the Range Rover Sport Electric and opened order books for the luxury SUV in India. Built on JLR's 800V Flexible Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA-Flex), it is the first fully electric model in the Range Rover Sport lineup.

Powering the Range Rover Sport Electric is a 118.5 kWh battery pack shared with the Range Rover Electric, delivering a higher claimed WLTP range of 609 km. The battery comes with an eight-year or 1,60,000 km standard warranty. Supporting 350 kW DC fast charging, the battery can replenish from 10 to 80 percent in 22 minutes, with a 10-minute charge adding 220 km of range.

The dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain produces up to 540 bhp and 850 Nm of torque, matching V8 performance with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.5 seconds. Handling is enhanced by a 61% stiffer body structure and a 73 mm lower centre of gravity. Mechanical highlights include adaptive air suspension, active roll control, twin-valve dampers, and all-wheel steering.

Visually, the electric SUV retains the design of the combustion model, featuring sleek LED lighting, flush door handles, and up to 22-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the five-seat cabin incorporates a 13.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 13.7-inch digital driver display with EV menus, four-zone climate control, and heated and ventilated power seats across four trim variants.
