Realme, a brand closely associated with OnePlus, has introduced its latest flagship, the GT5 Pro. Notably, it features palm unlock technology, touted to be as dependable as facial recognition. This device shares several specifications with the OnePlus 12, including the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, available in 12GB and 16GB LPDDR5X RAM options, and offering storage capacities of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB UFS 4.0.
A significant aspect of the GT5 Pro is its 12,000mm² vapor chamber, designed to enhance performance by preventing overheating, a feature also observed in the OnePlus 12. The GT5 Pro stands out with its unique back design, available in Red Rock, Bright Moon, and Starry Night colours, the latter boasting a textured glass finish. It sports a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, with a resolution of 2780x1264 pixels, a 144Hz refresh rate, a 2,160Hz touch sampling rate, and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, including an in-screen fingerprint scanner.
Battery life is robust, with a 5,400mAh battery supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. The camera system closely mirrors the OnePlus 12, featuring a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-808 sensor with an f/1.69 aperture. This camera has proven its worth on the OnePlus Open foldable. Additionally, the GT5 Pro includes the IMX890 50-megapixel sensor, previously seen on the OnePlus 11, for periscope zoom capabilities similar to the Oppo Find X6 Pro, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor.
The phone also boasts Dolby Atmos-tuned stereo speakers, an advanced haptics system with a linear motor, and IP64 dust protection. The Realme GT5 Pro is set to start shipping in China from December 14.
