Upon launch in India, the Renault Bigster will lock horns with other three-row mid-size SUVs such as Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV 7XO, Hyundai Alcazar, and MG Hector Plus.
Renault is all set to officially launch the much-awaited all-new Duster next week, with prices expected to be announced on 17 March 2026. Ahead of the Duster launch, a test mule of the Renault Bigster has been spotted on Indian roads. Essentially, a seven-seat version of the new Duster, the Bigster is slated for a market launch in India sometime early next year.
The latest spy images of the Bigster have reportedly been clicked in Chennai, which reveal some fresh details about the upcoming three-row mid-size SUV. Built on the new Renault Global Modular Platform (RGMP), that also underpins the new Renault Duster, the Bigster will come with a different visual identity as compared to its five-seater sibling.
The spy shots reveal a redesigned front fascia featuring LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, a wide lower air dam, and vertical air vents on either side of the bumper. The muscular bonnet appears similar to that of the Duster. Additionally, the grille has a blanked-off design, suggesting it could display the model’s name, similar to the setup seen on the Duster. A silver-finished element is also visible on the lower section of the bumper.

Another interesting detail spotted in the latest images are the sensors on the upper side of the front windscreen indicating the inclusion of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System. Along the profile, the SUV gets a nice stance thanks to the squared wheel arches that are most likely to be filled up by large 19-inch alloy wheels. In terms of dimensions, the international-spec Bigster measures 4.6 metres (300 mm longer than the Duster) in length, with a 2.74 metre long wheelbase.

Sharing its underpinnings with the Renault Duster, the upcoming Bigster is expected to offer the same range of engine options. These include a strong-hybrid petrol powertrain with a combined output of 158 bhp and 172 Nm, a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 161 bhp and 280 Nm, and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit delivering 99 bhp and 160 Nm. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual as standard for the two turbo petrol engine options while a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox could be offered as an option for the 1.3-litre unit.
