Renault Duster Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160 Bookings Open in India; Delivers 29 kmpl

Renault has opened bookings for the new Duster strong hybrid at ₹21,000, offering an ARAI-certified 29 kmpl mileage.

The Duster Strong Hybrid will feature a 1.8-litre petrol engine paired with two electric motors, a 1.4 kWh battery, and a multi-mode automatic transmission.

Renault India has announced an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency rating of 29 kmpl for the upcoming new Duster strong hybrid E-Tech 160 ahead of its official commercial debut in the Indian market.

Bookings for the SUV officially opened on October 9, 2026, allowing prospective buyers to reserve the vehicle for a token amount of ₹21,000 either through authorised Renault dealerships nationwide or via the company's official online portal. The complete vehicle reveal and formal commercial launch will take place on October 17, 2026.

The new Duster E-Tech 160 introduces Renault's European strong-hybrid technology to India, serving as the first localised model under the brand's futuREady electrification strategy. The hybrid powertrain combines a 1.8-litre petrol engine, two electric motors, and a 1.4 kWh battery pack to produce a total combined system output of 158 bhp.

Power delivery is managed by a multi-mode automatic transmission that automatically regulates energy distribution between the internal combustion engine and electric drive units based on driving demands.

Francisco Hidalgo, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Renault Group India stated that Indian SUV buyers no longer need to compromise between driving performance and fuel economy. The new Duster will be produced at Renault's manufacturing facility in Oragadam near Chennai, which operates with an annual capacity of 4,80,000 units, supported by an Indian retail footprint comprising nearly 638 sales and service touchpoints.
