Renault has also unveiled a new platform for entry models called RGEP that will be compatible with CNG.
Renault is aiming to reclaim its lost glory in the Indian market. The first big step in this direction was the launch of the all-new Duster earlier this year. However, the French carmaker isn’t stopping there as it continues to push for more growth in coming years as it strives India to become one of the brand’s top three markets globally by 2030.
In this regard, the company aims to expand to a seven-model portfolio by 2030, up from the current four-model lineup. The production portfolio will span a wide range of segments from compact cars to larger SUVs. Renault says this is its largest product renewal cycle in India so far. The future portfolio will cover the full spectrum of powertrains, including ICE, CNG, strong hybrids and fully electric vehicles.
Renault is positioning electrification as a transition path rather than a single-technology shift. The next big launch from the French carmaker will be the Brigder Concept which will hit the roads in 2027. Renault has also confirmed that the Bridger will be its first fully-electric production car, although it will be preceded by a combustion-engine model.

Speaking on this, Stéphane Deblaise, CEO, Renault Group in India, said “By 2030, we will offer a seven-model portfolio in India, spanning key segments from compact cars to larger SUVs, and featuring a full spectrum of electrified powertrains—from strong hybrids to fully electric vehicles. Leveraging world-class engineering, competitive manufacturing, and a clear, ambitious product roadmap, India is poised to be a major driver of sustained value for Renault Group.”
The company recently unveiled the RGMP platform which made its debut with the new-gen Duster a couple of months ago. This India-spec modular platform will be next seen in the Bridger which will be available in both ICE and EV derivatives. Besides the RGMP, Renault has developed another vehicle architecture specific to the needs of the Indian market. Renault Group Entry Platform or RGEP, this architecture has been derived from the CMFA platform.

As the name suggests, the RGEP is aimed at value-led, compact vehicles below ₹10 lakh. The biggest highlight of the RGEP is native underbody CNG construction that will be utilised for upcoming iterations of Kiger and Triber. Hence, CNG variants of both these vehicles are due soon. Further, Renault confirmed that the new Triber will feature a more modern cabin with larger screens and a new powertrain.
Renault also announced the Renault Forever initiative under which the Group intends to build a lasting relationship with consumers. As part of that, all Indian customers of Renault will notably benefit from a 7-year warranty. The French carmaker is also pushing India to become its next export hub with the Chennai manufacturing plant now under complete ownership of the Renault Group.
In Chennai, the Renault Group has one of its largest engineering centres worldwide, bringing together 6,000 engineers and IT specialists in vehicle architecture, software, simulation, and vehicle lifecycle upgrades. This site is set to take on an elevated role within the Group by now developing platforms, vehicle architectures, and technologies for projects in India as well as for global markets.
