The Triber facelift is still the only sub 4-metre MPV on sale in India.
Renault India has launched the facelifted Triber in India at ₹6.30 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The updated MPV is the first of the five products that Renault promised to launch in India. The Triber facelift comes with a refreshed design, a new cabin as well as new features.
Trim | MT Price | AMT Price |
---|---|---|
Authentic | ₹6.30 lakh | NA |
Evolution | ₹7.25 lakh | NA |
Techno | ₹8 lakh | NA |
Emotion | ₹8.65 lakh | ₹9.17 lakh |
The Triber facelift gets a new grille, new headlamps, new chunkier front bumpers, but most importantly, it now dons the new 2D logo that will also feature on future Renault models. While the basic shape of the headlamps remains unchanged, the elements have been updated and now get LED DRLs on the top. The intake in the lower bumper has become bigger, leading to the grille becoming narrower. It also gets a new design for the 15-inch alloy wheels, and apart from that, the profile of the Triber hasn’t changed. At the back, only the design of the taillamps has been updated.
Inside, the cabin has been refreshed too. While it gets the same black and grey colours, the layout is different with more grey on the seats than before. It still has an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen but with a different layout as the volume knob has been replaced by touch-based buttons. It still gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity but it is now wireless. Other features include cruise control, auto headlamps, auto wipers, LED instrument cluster, AC vents for 2nd and 3rd row, and more.
The Triber finally gets six airbags, ISOFIX and three-point seatbelts as standard across the range, with a total of 21 safety features on offer. The outgoing Triber's variant nomenclature (which included RXE, RXL, RXT and RXZ) has been replaced with a new one, which has Authentic, Evolution, Techno and Emotion.
Powering the Triber facelift is the same 1.0-litre petrol engine with 71 bhp and 96 Nm, mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. The AMT is only available on the top-spec variant. Just like the outgoing model, the facelifted Triber also comes with a retro-fitted CNG kit.
Like the outgoing Triber, the facelifted version also continues to rival the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (₹9.12 -13.41 lakh) and Toyota Rumion (₹10.67 - 13.96 lakh), despite being smaller and less expensive.
