River, the homegrown electric two-wheeler company, has announced an 8-year or 80,000-kilometre extended warranty programmeme for its premier electric scooter model, the River Indie. This extensive coverage includes both the battery system and motor components, setting a new benchmark in the Indian electric vehicle sector.
The enhanced warranty programme will be effective from October 1, 2025, extending coverage to both newly placed orders and current River Indie owners.
The warranty programmeme features a tiered pricing approach designed to accommodate various customer segments. Individuals who acquired their River Indie vehicles after April 1, 2025, can enroll in the extended warranty coverage for ₹8,399 plus applicable GST. Current customers already participating in River's existing 5-year extended warranty programmeme have the opportunity to upgrade to the enhanced 8-year plan for ₹3,399 plus GST during a special one-month enrollment period.
The warranty protection includes comprehensive replacement coverage for the battery system when its State of Health (SOH) deteriorates below the 70 per cent threshold. Additionally, the programme includes motor replacement services when the component becomes non-operational despite professional repair attempts, ensuring complete peace of mind for riders.

"With this 8-year warranty covering both the battery and motor, we aim to go beyond expectations by reinforcing our promise of durable and dependable mobility solutions."
River currently maintains an operational network of 32 retail locations spanning 15 major cities throughout India. The company's presence includes established markets such as Bengaluru, Mysuru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Visakhapatnam. Recent expansion efforts have introduced new outlets in Pune, Vijayawada, and Trivandrum, with ambitious plans to establish presence in all significant Indian metropolitan areas by 2026 through a combination of company-operated stores and authorised dealership partnerships.
