The Bear 650 is a scrambler derivative of the Interceptor 650
Royal Enfield has teased the arrival of its next bike on the 650 cc platform: the Bear 650. The launch of the scrambler iteration of the Interceptor 650 is set to arrive on November 5 at EICMA. Recently, details regarding the bike were leaked online with the motorcycle adopting the scrambler vibe very well. Pricing of the Bear 650 is likely to be around ₹3.40-3.55 lakh (ex-showroom India).
The leaked images show the rugged Bear 650 in a bright yellow and white shade. Visually, there are a few obvious changes. The triangular side panels are replaced by scrambler-inspired, number plate panels, the rear end is shorter with new all-LED tail light and turn indicators, and a new smaller blue seat with white piping is to be found here.
Powering the Bear 650 should be the same 648 cc parallel-twin engine as the other Royal Enfield 650s. However, unlike the other 650s, the Bear 650 gets a unique two-into-one stubby exhaust system. This should hopefully make the Bear 650 quite a lot lighter than the Interceptor 650. Currently, this engine puts out 47 bhp and 52.3 Nm on the Interceptor.
We aim to bring more information on the Bear 650 soon as we should have ridden the bike by November 5. So stick around for our review of the 650 cc urban scrambler.
