Royal Enfield had unveiled the Himalayan 450 earlier in Japan at the Osaka Motorcycle Show.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has landed in Japan finally. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, for it was already confirmed earlier that the ADV would be launched in the country when it was showcased for the first time at the Osaka Motorcycle Show. Moreover, the new bike will replace the previous generation Himalayan 411 from the Japanese market, just like it did in India.
The new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will usher in a completely new era for the brand in Japan. This is primarily down to the plethora of new equipment that the ADV has on offer. Right from the new ‘Sherpa 450’ liquid-cooled mill to its ride-by-wire technology, both of which are new debuts for the Royal Enfield brand. Further upping its ante will be its increased power/torque which now stands at 39.47 bhp/ 40 Nm, making the new Himalayan 450 much more potent than its predecessor.
On the feature front too the new Himalayan 450 has become quite modern. Replacing the semi-digital instrument cluster with a digital compass (which did catch our fancy in the beginning), RE has gone for a completely new full-digital TFT instrument cluster with built-in Google Maps. Aside from that, its all-LED headlight, and tail lights with integrated turn indicators - no stone has been left unturned to make the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 a proper modern, yet retro-looking bike. Prices for the RE Himalayan 450 for the Japanese market will be revealed soon.
