The Himalayan 452 will be the most technically advanced motorcycle from the iconic brand.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 is among the most highly anticipated new motorcycle launches of 2023. While we already have seen the test mule many times and in fact even Royal Enfield had showcased it on their Instagram page a few months back. Now, we finally get to see the production-version of the Himalayan 452.
As seen in the image, the new Himalayan 452 looks very similar to the original bike and has that industrial design vibe. It sports a round LED headlight and a small windscreen. What makes the front-end look imposing is the USD suspension, 21-inch spoke wheels and a large mudguard. Moving forward the fuel tank design is different and it looks visually larger than the older bike, while the centre panel is very petite. The Himalayan 452 sports split seats and the exhaust muffler is chunkier and gets a brushed aluminium finish.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 will be powered by an all-new 451.65 cc, single-cylinder engine. The highlight is that this will be Royal Enfield's first series production motorcycle to feature liquid-cooling. The new engine nature is very different from the long-stroke motor as seen on the current bike as peak power is made at 8,000 rpm (1,500 rpm higher). We know for a fact that the Himalayan 452 will produce 39.50 bhp and we estimate the torque figure to be around 38-40 Nm. It’s likely that the new Himalayan ADV will feature a 6-speed gearbox.
On the chassis front, the Himalayan 452 will employ a trellis frame which will be suspended on USD for and a monoshock unit. It’s unlikely that the suspension will be adjustable but we will have to wait till the launch for confirmation. The ADV bike runs on 21-18 inch spoke wheels (non-tubeless) and off-road spec tyres. Stopping power is courtesy disc brakes on both ends and dual-channel ABS will be standard.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 will be officially launched on November 7. In terms of pricing we expect the new Royal Enfield adventure bike to cost between Rs 2.70 and Rs 2.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, the Himalayan 452 will compete against the KTM 390 Adventure, BMW G 310 GS and the Yezdi Adventure.
