For the first time, the championship will run separate grids for professional and amateur riders.

Royal Enfield on Tuesday opened registrations for the sixth running of the Continental GT Cup, presented by JK Tyre, with the 2026 season shaping up to be the most fiercely contested in the championship's history. The headline addition this year is the GT-R750, a purpose-built race prototype developed exclusively for professional competitors. Constructed on an entirely new platform, the machine has been engineered with sharper performance and improved agility in mind, alongside enhanced feedback for riders pushing hard on circuit.

Technical highlights include race-tuned suspension and braking, lightweight twin stainless steel exhausts, and a newly designed aerodynamic fairing intended to aid straight-line speed and rider positioning.

For the first time, the championship will run separate grids for professional and amateur riders -- a structural change that should sharpen competition across both categories. A total prize pool of ₹20 lakh is on offer across the season.

Now in its sixth year, the Continental GT Cup has grown into one of India's most accessible manufacturer-backed racing series since it launched in 2021. Its "Street to Track" ethos remains central to the concept: riders need nothing more than a valid driving licence to enter, lowering the barrier to circuit racing considerably.
