Samsung has launched Digital Car Key support for Mahindra Electric Origin SUVs via Samsung Wallet, allowing Galaxy smartphone users to securely lock, unlock, and start their vehicles.
Samsung has announced the introduction of Digital Car Key compatibility for Mahindra Electric Origin SUVs, XEV 9e and BE 6, through Samsung Wallet. This new feature enables Galaxy smartphone users to lock, unlock, and start their vehicles directly from their devices, eliminating the need for a physical key.
The Digital Car Key is integrated into Samsung Wallet, allowing users to manage vehicle access conveniently. It will work will all Samsung Galaxy smartphones with support for Near-Field Communication (NFC) and Ultra-Wideband (UWB).
In addition to basic functions, users can share their Digital Car Key with friends or family for a limited period, providing flexible and controlled access to their vehicles.
Security remains a priority with this feature. If a device with a Digital Car Key is lost or stolen, users can remotely lock the device or erase all data, including the Digital Car Key, using the Samsung Find service. The system also requires biometric or PIN-based authentication, ensuring that only authorised users can access the vehicle and enhancing overall privacy and security.
Nalinikanth Gollagunta, Chief Executive Officer - Automotive Division, Mahindra said, “Our Electric Origin SUVs - XEV 9e and BE 6 have captivated our customers with their advanced technology and futuristic designs. We are delighted to partner with Samsung to bring yet another first-in-class feature - Digital Car key via Samsung wallet, ensuring every journey is even more seamless and convenient. This latest innovation again exemplifies Mahindra's commitment to delivering an exceptional ownership experience with premium, intelligent electric SUVs for India.”
Samsung Wallet serves as a comprehensive platform for Galaxy users, enabling them to store and manage digital keys, payment methods, identification cards, and more within a single secure application.
The platform is protected by Samsung Knox, which offers defence-grade security. Samsung Wallet is designed to integrate seamlessly with the broader Galaxy ecosystem, providing users with robust connectivity and enhanced security in their daily routines.
With this rollout, Samsung aims to offer Mahindra Electric Origin SUV owners a more convenient and secure way to interact with their vehicles, reflecting the brand’s ongoing commitment to innovation and user safety.
