While TVS continues to top the charts, Hero MotoCorp has shown incredible sales improvement with the new Vida EV scooters.

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) released the September sales figures for electric two-wheelers, and it’s TVS Motor, which has once again emerged on top. The Hosur-based two-wheeler giant leads the pack with 22,509 units sold in September, 2025. While TVS did top the sales charts, it should be noted that Ola Electric had managed to sell 24,754 units in September, 2024, so there is scope for improvement. Sales also could have been impacted because of the rare earth material crisis, which had affected the production of electric scooters.

The biggest impact of the above can be seen in Bajaj Auto’s sales performance, as it sold 19,580 units last month, which is just a 1.90% sales improvement, as it had sold 19,214 units in the corresponding month last year. With the supply chain issue sorted out, Bajaj would be ramping up production, thereby giving tougher competition to TVS in October sales. But with the introduction of the new TVS Orbiter, the Hosur-based manufacturer will be hoping to further increase sales in the coming months. Coming in third position is Ather Energy, as it saw its sales swell by an impressive 40.36% with 18,141 units being sold.

The biggest loser with respect to overall sales and market share is Ola Electric, as sales slid by 46% with just 13,383 units being sold, despite the fact that the company has entered the electric motorcycle segment with the Ola Roadster. The biggest gainer is Hero MotoCorp as the Vida scooter sales skyrocketed by 195% as the company sold 12,753 units in September, 2025. While the GST cut hasn’t made an impact on electric two-wheeler pricing, the market share of the same has increased from 7.5% in September 2024 to 8.1% last month, showcasing the increase in demand for EVs.
