Simple Energy Family Electric Scooter To Debut On September 2

Simple Energy has officially confirmed that it will unveil its first family electric scooter on September 2, 2026. The upcoming launch marks the Bengaluru-based EV maker's entry into India's largest scooter segment, where it will take on established rivals such as the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 range, Hero Vida V2 and Ather Rizta.

Unlike the Simple One range, which has focused on performance and long-range capability, the upcoming model is aimed at families and everyday commuters. It represents a shift in strategy for Simple Energy as it looks to expand beyond the premium electric scooter space and target a much larger audience. The Simple Ultra made headlines with a claimed IDC-certified range of 400 km—the highest claimed range for an electric scooter in India.

The new family electric scooter is expected to be developed on an all-new platform and feature a lower capacity battery pack than the existing 3.7 kWh unit as seen on the Simple OneS. Performance will be restricted as the focus will be to extract as much range as possible from the new scooter which could be around 120 to 150 km IDC. The styling of the new Simple family scooter will be more sober and the focus will be on utility with generous under seat storage space. The Simple OneS is currently priced at ₹1.72 lakh and we expect the upcoming Simple electric scooter to retail between ₹1.30-1.50 lakh (all prices mentioned are ex-showroom).
