The Simiple One Gen 2 is a premium product, priced at ₹1.78 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top variant.

The Simple One Gen 2 gets a lot of upgrades, but there is still scope for improvement and we highlight those aspects of it in this article

Simple One Gen 2 quality

One of the biggest issues with the Simple One Gen 2 we felt during the first ride experience of the scooter was its poor quality. Despite being present in the market for a couple of years, the quality of the scooter can be best described as average. The panel gaps are inconsistent and the plastics on some of the panels aren't premium. The quality levels are bad considering the fact that it isn’t an affordable product by any means, priced at ₹1.78 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top variant. Even the switchgear didn’t reek of quality and the switchcube quality was very poor and sometimes it didn’t even function properly.

Simple One Gen 2 high speed instability

The performance of the scooter is on point as it offers brisk and peppy acceleration. However once you cross speeds above 90 kmph, the front end of the scooter starts feeling light and unstable. At high speeds, the Simple One Gen 2’s front end starts to wobble and this can be unsettling and induce anxiety in the rider's mind. This sensation gets magnified when you ride over rumble strips or uneven road surfaces. Given that the scooter boasts a top speed of 115 kmph, the company needs to fix this issue as it is a safety concern.

Simple One Gen 2 brakes

The other issue we encountered with the Simple One Gen 2 during our first ride experience is its weak front brake. As mentioned before one can easily do speeds around 100 kmph on the scooter, but when it comes to braking, one has to really plan it. The bite from the front brake pads is weak and there’s no feedback through the lever. So under hard braking, the rider has no feedback and is praying for the scooter to come to a halt. This issue is intriguing as the rear disc brake did its duty flawlessly. It is an easy fix and we hope the company is able to resolve the braking issue before deliveries commence.
