We recently rode the Simple One Gen 2 and here are the positives of the new updated electric scooter
Performance
The Simple One Gen 2 is offered with three battery packs and we rode the top-spec, 5 kWh unit delivering peak power of 8.8 kW. The first thing you notice when you wring open the throttle is the rapid acceleration the scooter offers. Simple claims its scooter can dash from 0-40 kmph in 2.55 seconds and while we didn’t have any testing equipment, the scooter felt very peppy and if you like performance, the Simple does deliver on this end. Even the throttle calibration of the scooter is on point and the claimed top speed is 115 kmph, which is very impressive.
Range
One of the highlights of the Simple One, ever since its debut has been its range. With the Gen 2, the company has upped the ante even further. The claimed range for the 5 kWh variant is a massive 265 km, making it among the highest for any electric two-wheeler in the country. Even the mid-spec 4.5 kWh variant delivers 236 km and the entry-level offering with a 3.6 kWh is rated at 190 km (all figures are IDC). So if you’re looking for a scooter with a high range, the Simple One Gen 2 makes a strong case for itself.

Technology & Features
The Simple One Gen 2 comes loaded with features and tech. You get a massive 7-inch TFT screen which is controlled via switchcubes on the left hand side of the handle bar. Highlight features on the scooter include - 6 ride modes, hill hold, traction control, cruise control, navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and TPMS. So if you like a connected scooter with a plethora of modern features, the Gen 2 has you covered.

Handling
A majority of the electric scooter buyers don’t give handling much precedence. However, if you’re an enthusiast who wants a fun to ride scooter, the Gen 2 delivers as it gets a revised chassis with added stiffness. The scooter feels sure-footed while cornering fast and it also feels very nimble. The agility of the scooter is down to the fact that the Simple One Gen 2 is lighter by 8 kg compared to its predecessor. The weight savings is courtesy the fixed battery as the older scooter had a removable battery.
