The Epiq brings Skoda’s new design philosophy and an all-electric powertrain.
Skoda has officially unveiled its smallest and most affordable electric car globally: the Epiq. Positioned below the Enyaq and Elroq, this compact SUV is quite important for Skoda’s electrification ambitions globally.
Here is everything you need to know about the 2026 Skoda Epiq.
Bold Design
This is the first production model to adopt Skoda's new 'Modern Solid' design philosophy. It features a glossy black 'Tech Deck Face' at the front instead of a traditional grille, flanked by T-shaped LED headlights.
The body features squared wheel arches and a high shoulder line. Crucially, the SUV prioritises efficiency with a low drag coefficient of 0.275, aided by active cooling shutters and aerodynamic wheel designs.
Battery, Range, and Performance
The Epiq will be available globally in three powertrain variants:
- Epiq 35 and 40: Fitted with a 38.5 kWh battery powering a front-wheel-drive setup. The 35 variant produces 114 bhp, while the 40 variant develops 133 bhp. Both offer a claimed driving range of around 310 km.
- Epiq 55: The range-topping model features a larger 55 kWh battery and a 208 bhp motor. It delivers a claimed range of up to 440 km.
All variants support DC fast charging, allowing the 55 kWh battery to charge from 10 to 80%. It also supports bidirectional charging, allowing owners to power external devices or homes.
Premium Interior and Safety
Inside, a minimal dashboard houses a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital driver's display. High-spec models receive matrix headlights, a 10-speaker Canton audio system, and a panoramic sunroof.
Safety is heavily prioritised with seven standard airbags and an advanced driver assistance systems suite, including lane assist and traffic jam assistance.
Perfect Size for India
The Epiq is built on the Volkswagen Group's MEB+ electric platform. It measures 4,171 mm in length, 1,798 mm in width, and 1,581 mm in height, featuring a 2,601 mm wheelbase. Its clever packaging ensures a big 475 litre boot alongside a 25 litre front trunk for storing charging cables.
India Lunch Details
The Epiq could be a formidable rival to the Creta Electric, Maruti e Vitara, and VinFast VF 6. However, Skoda hasn’t revealed any electrification strategy for India as of now. It remains to be seen if Skoda launches EVs at all in our market.
