Skoda’s upcoming performance SUV has been fully booked in India before its official launch.
Skoda India announced that the upcoming Kodiaq RS was completely sold out within just six minutes of bookings opening. Do note that this quick sell-out is tied to a highly limited release: only 50 units of the performance SUV have been allocated for the Indian market.
The price in India of the Kodiaq RS has not yet been revealed. However, since it will be a full import, we expect it to be priced around ₹60 lakh ex-showroom.
To distinguish it from the standard Kodiaq, the RS variant receives a more aggressive exterior styling package. This includes redesigned bumpers, gloss black highlights, distinctive RS badging, striking 20-inch alloy wheels, an enlarged roof spoiler, and twin exhaust tips.
Under the bonnet, the SUV is equipped with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. It generates 262 bhp and 400 Nm of torque, which is 30 Nm higher than the Octavia RS. This powertrain is coupled with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that channels power through an AWD system. Together, this setup allows the vehicle to sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in a claimed 6.3 seconds, reaching a top speed of 231 kmph.
The cabin takes on a sporty character, highlighted by an all-black theme, a three-spoke RS steering wheel, front sports seats, and contrasting red stitching. It retains its practical seven-seater layout while offering a premium features list.
Prominent highlights include a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, and three-zone climate control. The front seats are electrically adjustable and come with ventilation, heating, massage, and memory functions. Driving safety and convenience are enhanced by a 360-degree camera system, an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite, nine airbags, a 13-speaker Canton sound system, and a powered tailgate.
