Skoda Kodiaq RS Review 7.webp

The new Skoda Kodiaq RS comes to India as a full import and is restricted to just 50 examples, all of which were booked within six minutes after the order books opened on June 22.

Škoda Auto India has launched the new Kodiaq RS, bringing the performance SUV to the market at ₹66.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Skoda Kodiaq RS comes to India as a full import and is restricted to just 50 examples, all of which were booked within six minutes after the order books opened on June 22, 2026. The new Kodiaq RS completes the ‘Kodiaq family’ in India starting from the Lounge variant to the new top-spec RS.

The new Škoda Kodiaq arrives with a host of upgrades, predominantly a more powerful engine, suspension and brakes. Power comes from the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol motor tuned for 261 bhp and 400 Nm, a bump of 60 bhp and 80 Nm over the standard Kodiaq. The engine continues to be paired with the 7-speed DSG, which sends power to all four wheels. The SUV offers spirited performance with 0-100 kmph coming up in 6.3 seconds, while the top speed is restricted to 231 kmph.

Compared to the standard Kodiaq, the new Kodiaq RS comes with the Dynamic Chassis Control Plus (DCC+) adaptive suspension, which helps stiffen the suspension for more focused performance. The SUV gets seven driving modes, including Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, Individual, Snow, and Off-Road. It also gets bigger disc brakes with twin-pot calipers for more enhanced stopping power.

Visually, the Škoda Kodiaq RS beefs up on the looks of the standard version. This includes a blacked-out grille, window surrounds, ORVMs, and badges. The bumpers have been tweaked for a sportier look, while there are larger 20-inch alloy wheels with low profile tyres and red brake calipers. The D-pillar has been blacked-out for a floating roof effect too. Rounding up the changes are the ‘vRS’ badges at the front and rear, and twin exhausts that sound menacing in sport mode.

The cabin stays true to the RS theme with a full-black treatment. There’s red stitching for contrast, and the front row gets sport seats with electric adjustability, ventilation, heating, and memory function. The steering wheel carries the vRS badge, and so do the front headrests. Other features include a 10.25-inch digital driver’s console, a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual wireless charging pads, a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, Type-C charging ports, ambient lighting, and more. There’s wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto too.

The second remains spacious with rear AC vents and a charging port, while there’s a third row too, albeit best reserved for kids. The boot capacity stands at 281 litres with all three rows up, while the second and third row are foldable for more cargo space.

The Škoda Kodiaq RS remains a limited-run machine, and the automaker is yet to confirm if there will be a second batch of the SUV for the Indian market. The model does not have direct rivals, but overlaps with other luxury SUVs, becoming more expensive than the Mercedes-Benz GLA, BMW X1 and Audi Q3, while being more affordable than the Mercedes-Benz GLC, BMW X3, and Audi Q5.
