Along with revealing the price list, Skoda India will also open the order books for the Kylaq.
Skoda Auto India will reveal the remaining prices of the Kylaq subcompact SUV on December 2, and will also open the order books. At the global debut earlier this month, Skoda India had only revealed the price of the Kylaq’s base variant, which is priced at ₹7.89 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
The variant line-up of the new Skoda Kylaq will also be revealed on December 2, when the full price list is revealed. Expect the Kylaq to have four trims – Classic, Signature, Signature+ and Prestige – but it seems unlikely it will have eight variants since the base trims might not get an automatic gearbox.
The Kylaq will be offered with a 114 bhp, 178 Nm, 1.0-litre, turbo-petrol engine mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Skoda claims the Kylaq can do the 0-100 kmph run in 10.5 seconds and has a top speed of 188 kmph.
Skoda’s subcompact SUV measures 3995 mm in length, 1783 mm in width and 1619 mm in height. The Kylaq has a wheelbase of 2566 mm and a ground clearance of 189 mm. It has a boot space of 466 litres and with the seats folded, the cargo holding capacity goes up to 1265 litres.
The Kylaq will come with quite a few features like a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a single-pane sunroof, a virtual instrument cluster, ventilated and powered front seats, auto-dimming IRVM, automatic climate control and more. Safety features, standard from the base variant, include parking sensors, six airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts and more but misses out on ADAS.
The new subcompact SUV will be offered in five colours – Olive Gold, Tornado Red, Carbon Steel, Brilliant Silver and Candy White. There will be three choices for the wheels too, with the top-spec trim getting 17-inch alloy wheels. The mid-spec trims will come with 16-inch alloy wheels and the base variant will get 16-inch steel wheels.
Since the base variant of the Kylaq undercuts most of its rivals, the top-spec variant could also do the same. The Kylaq rivals the Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet.
