Skoda's performance saloon finds 100 buyers within days of bookings opening.
Skoda India has sold all 100 units of its upcoming Octavia RS before the car has even been officially launched. Bookings for the high-performance model opened earlier this week with a deposit of ₹2.50 lakh, and every allocated unit has now been reserved ahead of the price reveal scheduled for October 17.
The Czech carmaker is bringing the Octavia RS to India as a completely built-up import, with expected pricing between ₹50 lakh and ₹55 lakh (ex-showroom).
Performance Credentials
The fourth-generation Skoda Octavia RS is the most powerful version yet. It uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 265 bhp and 370 Nm – the same unit found in the Volkswagen Golf GTI sold in India. Power goes to the front wheels through a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

Skoda claims the sports saloon will sprint from 0-100kph in 6.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 kmph, though that's electronically limited. A sports exhaust system comes as standard equipment.
Equipment and Features
Buyers can choose from five exterior colours: Mamba Green, Magic Black, Candy White, Race Blue, and Velvet Red. Inside, the cabin features all-black suede and leatherette upholstery.

Standard kit includes 19-inch alloy wheels, LED Matrix headlamps, sports front seats, ambient lighting, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, and a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. There's also an 11-speaker Canton audio system, wireless smartphone charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a 360-degree camera, three-zone climate control, powered and heated front seats with massage function, a powered boot lid, 10 airbags, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
Strong Demand Continues
The Skoda Octavia RS has built a loyal following in India over the years. The previous-generation Octavia RS 245, which launched in 2020 with 200 units available, also sold out quickly – taking just over a month to find buyers. Skoda has cautioned that some customers may cancel their bookings once official prices are announced, so prospective buyers could still have a chance by contacting their nearest dealer after launch.
