Steelbird Expands Smart Helmet Range With Launch of Base X

Steelbird Hi-Tech India has announced the launch of Base X, its latest smart riding technology aimed at enhancing connectivity and control for two-wheeler riders. Priced at ₹5,999, Base X is integrated into the company’s Fighter helmet range and is positioned as an accessible entry point into smart helmet technology for Indian consumers.

With Base X, Steelbird seeks to address the evolving needs of modern riders, where safety, convenience, and digital integration are becoming increasingly important. The company states that the new system is designed to allow riders to stay connected while maintaining focus on the road.

Steelbird Base X Features

At the core of Base X is an emphasis on intuitive, hands-free operation. The system features a magnetic lock and smart power control, which automatically powers the device on when the helmet is secured and switches it off when removed. This approach is intended to simplify usage while reducing distractions.

Music playback is managed through onboard controls, allowing riders to play, pause, skip tracks, and adjust volume without reaching for their smartphones. In addition, Base X supports voice assistant integration, enabling riders to activate Google Assistant or Siri with a long press of the “+” button, providing access to navigation, calls, and other voice-enabled functions.

Steelbird has also incorporated multiple riding modes into the Base X system. Riders can switch between Glide Mode, Beast Mode, and Relax Mode using the Base X button, allowing them to tailor their riding experience based on conditions or personal preference. Another notable feature is the inclusion of smart rear indicator lights with customisable colour options. These are designed to enhance both aesthetic appeal and on-road visibility, contributing to overall rider safety.

In terms of convenience, Base X is equipped with Type-C charging and offers up to 48 hours of continuous music playback, making it suitable for extended rides as well as daily commuting. The Fighter helmet range, which houses the Base X technology, continues to meet Steelbird’s established safety standards, featuring a high-impact shell, efficient ventilation, and rider-focused ergonomics.
