Suzuki has started manufacturing the e-Access at its Gurugram plant. The brand’s debut electric scooter for the Indian market was already showcased earlier this year at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo earlier this year. Prices are yet to be disclosed, though. But given its competition, which includes the likes of the Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, etc are priced in the range of ₹1 lakh-₹1.50 lakh (ex-showroom), we reckon Suzuki will also pitch the e-Access somewhere around this mark.
Built around an all-new underbone frame, e-Access looks more evolved than its ICE-sibling, the Access 125. It’s powered by a 3.07 kWh lithium phosphate battery that will be good for a real world range of 95 km.The battery will power a 4.1 kW electric motor to produce 15 Nm of peak torque, wherein the top speed is yet to be disclosed.
Suzuki will offer the e-Access with both portable and fast charging options. The first option takes 4 hours and 30 minutes to charge from 0-80 per cent, while 6 hours and 42 minutes to charge fully. With the fast charger, the time drops to 1 hour and 12 minutes for 0-80 per cent charge, and 2 hours and 12 minutes for 100 per cent charge. Feature-wise, the e-Access will come with regenerative braking, different ride modes, and fully digital instrument console as well.
With the commencement of production, the launch of the Suzuki e-Access should also be right around the corner. It will be available with the choice of three colour options – Metallic Mat Black/Bordeaux, Pearl Grace White, and Pearl Jade Green.
