Switch Mobility Secures 650 Electric Bus Order for Mumbai and Pune Deployments

Switch Mobility, the electric bus manufacturing arm of the Hinduja Group, has secured an order to supply 650 electric buses to Sai Green Projects Pvt. Ltd. The agreement will support public transport operations across Mumbai and Pune under the Central Government's PM E-Drive Phase II Tender scheme.

Under the contract, Switch Mobility will supply 9 metre AC and Non-AC electric buses to Sai Green Projects, which was selected as the transport operator under the CESL tender. The newly procured electric buses will join the public transit fleets of the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) undertaking in Mumbai and the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) in Pune.

Ganesh Mani, CEO of Switch Mobility, highlighted that the order represents a major step toward reducing urban emissions and modernising public transport systems in two of Maharashtra's largest metropolitan centres. The company noted that it has already deployed over 2,500 electric buses in India and logged more than 185 million green kilometres globally as it continues expanding its commercial EV footprint.
