Tata Motors is preparing to launch the mid-cycle facelift of its premium hatchback, the Altroz, on May 22, 2025. Launched initially in January 2020, the Altroz has undergone several mechanical and feature-based updates over the years, but the upcoming refresh marks the first significant design revision since its debut.
Recent spy images of the test mule suggest that while Tata is maintaining the core design language of the Altroz, minor cosmetic changes are in the pipeline. The test mule was seen with heavy camouflage, but key updates are discernible. A redesigned front bumper now features a vertical crease under the fog lamps, hinting at a sharper and more contemporary look. At the rear, updated LED tail-lights and indicators are expected to enhance visibility and styling.
The most notable interior change expected is the inclusion of a larger 10.25-inch infotainment display, similar to the unit available on the Altroz Racer and other recent Tata models. While spy shots have not revealed the entire cabin layout, the larger screen could make its way to more variants beyond the top-spec trims.
Other expected interior enhancements include refreshed seat upholstery, revised door trims, and wider availability of premium features. Notably, ventilated front seats, currently exclusive to the Racer edition, may be offered on higher trims of the standard Altroz. A sunroof, however, is unlikely to be part of the facelift, setting it apart from some of its feature-rich rivals.

Tata Motors will retain all five powertrain options for the Altroz facelift. These include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol (87 bhp) with 5-speed manual or 6-speed DCT, and a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol (118 bhp) exclusive to the Altroz Racer with a 6-speed manual. The 1.5-litre diesel (89 bhp) and 1.2-litre CNG (72 bhp) variants are available with a 5-speed manual.
The current Altroz is priced between ₹6.65 lakh and ₹11.30 lakh (ex-showroom, India). While the facelifted model may see a slight price revision depending on the final feature list, it is expected to remain within the same bracket to stay competitive against its key rivals.
