The Altroz will get a significant facelift with new design and probably new features.
Tata Motors has teased the much-awaited facelift of its premium hatchback, the Altroz. The Altroz facelift will launch in India on May 22, 2025. While the teaser, obviously, doesn’t reveal the entire car, it does hint at the exterior design changes of the Altroz with the new facelift.
The new Altroz facelift will get redesigned headlights and taillights, grille, front and rear bumpers and door handles. Up front, the new Altroz still has a split-headlamp design with more LED lamps and new LED DRLs. While earlier the DRLs were placed in the lower headlamp unit, it has now been moved to the upper headlight, which looks similar to the new Tata Motors’ cars like the Nexon, Harrier, Safari, Curvv and Punch EV.
It also has a new grille which is now slimmer and is more in line with the aforementioned models. The bumper now has a larger intake which houses the front camera and has a two-part design. While the basic shape of the rear-end of the Altroz remains the same, it gets a new LED lightbar at the rear and also has redesigned LED taillamps. The Altroz lettering has now moved lower down on the tailgate, while earlier it was right below the Tata Motors logo. Even the rear bumper has a sporty, two-part design.
Like the Curvv and Curvv EV, the Altroz will also have flush-fitting door handles for the front, while the rear door handles are the same and are mounted on the C-Pillar. Does this mean Tata Motors will launch the all electric version of the Altroz? We’ll have to wait and see. The Altroz facelift will also have a new design for the alloy wheels.
In terms of features, the Altroz facelift will definitely continue to have a 360-degree camera. Other features are likely to include a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10.25-inch virtual cluster, single-pane sunroof, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charger and connected car tech.
The powertrain options of the Altroz are unlikely to change with the facelift. Expect it to come with a turbo-petrol in two states of tune, a CNG and a diesel. Even the gearbox options, which include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The Altroz facelift is expected to be priced between ₹7 - 12 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and will rival the Toyota Glanza, Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai i20.
