The collaboration aims to establish a benchmark for IoT scalability and interoperability by leveraging Tata’s global eSIM orchestration and Cisco’s device management expertise.
Tata Communications and Cisco unveiled a collaboration to enhance global enterprise IoT deployments. The partnership integrates Tata Communications’ Move platform with Cisco’s IoT Control Center, aiming to streamline the management of connected devices across industries.
This move is aimed at addressing the growing complexity of IoT ecosystems, particularly for businesses scaling operations globally.
Enterprises face significant hurdles in managing large IoT device fleets, such as connected vehicles and industrial sensors. Issues like fragmented SIM hardware, complex provisioning, and lack of network interoperability often delay rollouts and increase costs.
The collaboration combines Tata’s Move, which supports over 350 million eSIM Operating Systems across 200+ countries, with Cisco’s IoT Control Center, used by 32,000 enterprises to manage 270 million SIM IoT devices, including 100 million connected cars.
This integration enables seamless device activation across networks, faster time-to-market, and improved visibility without vendor lock-ins.
The partnership is set to benefit sectors like transportation, logistics, and manufacturing, where reliable IoT connectivity is vital.
For instance, trucking firms can activate trailers across borders without local SIMs, while utility providers can monitor infrastructure on diverse networks without device reconfiguration.
The solution reduces integration efforts and enhances operational efficiency, offering enterprises greater control over their IoT deployments.
Both companies are focused on enabling businesses to innovate and optimise operations, supporting seamless connectivity across devices and networks worldwide.
