The Tata Curvv and Sierra will also have all-electric versions.
Tata Motors has confirmed that the internal combustion engine-powered (ICE) versions of the Curvv and Sierra concepts will see the light of day soon. In an interview with Acko Drive, Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and Tata Passenger Electric. Mobility Ltd confirmed that the Curvv ICE will be launched in 2024, while the Sierra ICE will be launched sometime in 2025.
Regarding Tata Motors' growth, Chandra mentioned that “it is imperative that if you have to grow your market share, then you have to add new nameplates”. As mentioned earlier, these new nameplates will be the Curvv and Sierra were showcased to the public in concept form at Auto Expo 2023 in January. He also added that Tata Motors is contemplating adding more nameplates to its portfolio, and “once we have finalised these, we’ll be very vocal about them.”

When asked if these new nameplates will be introduced in a new segment or one where Tata Motors already has a presence in, Chandra responded by saying the brand would like to operate in a “distinct segment where we are not there and where we see that there is at least a stable or growing demand in the future.”
The ICE version of the Curvv concept will see the introduction of the new 1.2-litre turbocharged gasoline direct injection (TGDi) engine that produces 123 bhp at 5,000 rpm and 225 Nm of torque between 1,700 and 3,500 rpm. It will also have an all-electric version which is also expected to launch in 2024. The Curvv will have a coupe SUV body style and will roughly measure 4300 mm in length and will sit above the Nexon in Tata Motors’ portfolio.

Similarly, the Sierra ICE will debut with the new 1.5-litre TGDi engine that produces 168 bhp at 5,000 rpm and 280 Nm of torque between 2,000 and 3,500 rpm. This 1.5 TGDi will then trickle down to the Harrier and Safari eventually. Like the Curvv, the Sierra will also get an EV version.
