Tata Motors announced a significant accomplishment - the successful deployment of 1 lakh Tata EVs. This achievement reflects Tata Motors' dedication to fostering positive change and contributing to a sustainable future for India. Over the past three years, Tata Motors has been at the forefront of the EV revolution in India, marking a transformative journey that began with its initial 10,000 EVs and culminated in this milestone. Notably, the last 50,000 EVs were added in a mere nine months, underscoring the accelerated pace of adoption. To commemorate this occasion, Tata Motors orchestrated a drone display that symbolised the company's transformational journey from aspiration to reality.
Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. said, “Today is a momentous occasion for us as we celebrate a very important milestone of 1 Lakh Tata EVs.”
Tata EVs, having collectively traveled an impressive 1.4 billion kilometers - equivalent to three round trips to the sun - represent a pivotal step towards reduced carbon emissions and pollution. Cumulatively, the efforts of Tata EV owners have resulted in a noteworthy saving of 2,19,432 tons of CO2 emissions, contributing significantly to environmental preservation.
Economically, the adoption of Tata EVs has translated to an astonishing INR 7 billion in fuel cost savings for owners during the lifespan of their electric vehicles, underscoring the cost-effectiveness and sustainability of this technological shift.
Tata Motors is poised to catalyse the future of mobility with its three-phase EV strategy. The company intends to offer a diverse range of body styles at varying price points, aligning with the evolving preferences of EV consumers. The Auto Expo 2023 witnessed Tata Motors unveiling forward-looking concepts including the Curvv, Harrier EV, Sierra EV, and Avinya, which are anticipated to resonate with new customer segments.
The expansion of charging infrastructure will further permeate all corners of the nation, effectively addressing range anxiety and facilitating seamless mobility. The company's ongoing investments are aimed at establishing a robust supply ecosystem for EVs, reaffirming Tata Motors' steadfast commitment to enhancing electrification in India and empowering consumers to make sustainable choices without compromising performance or reliability.
